About Awesome

Hi there,

We’re the Adelaide Chapter of the Awesome Foundation! A pleasure to meet you.

We launch October 01 and we’re pretty excited.  So much Awesome has been happening behind the scenes.

Despite what the wet blanket types say, Adelaide is full of Awesome.  We’re on a mission to open the door of opportunity to the awesome ideas and hidden gems of this city.  That’s right, Adelaide’s best side, it’s Awesome side, is about to be revealed and developed.

We know what you’re wondering.  You’re thinking ‘Oh yeah? How are you going to do that?’

If you’re not familiar with the Awesome Foundation, we’ve undertaken the excellent task of ‘forwarding the interest of awesome in the universe $1000 at a time’. As with other chapters, the Adelaide Chapter will be granting One Thousand Dollars every month to an applicant who has mustered the little bit of courage they need to put their super cool idea forward.  It’s that simple, zero strings attached.  It’s almost too easy. Just the way Awesome should be.

A chapter is made up of one dean and ten trustees.  Every month each of the trustees put forward $100 a month to give a boost to awesome ideas that need it.  Plus, we’ve gone one step further, by recruiting a force of exuberant advocates to make sure the word is out on the ground for all things Awesome in Adelaide.

But we should be clear… it’s not a lazy hand-out.  The Trustees of the Adelaide Chapter are a diverse crew of creators and entrepreneurs from areas including design, finance and environment. With that collective experience and wisdom comes an incredible level of consciousness of what works and what doesn’t when it comes to Awesome projects.

Adelaide Awesome will be looking for:

  • Change-makers and innovators
  • Ideas that have lasting impact in and around Adelaide and plans that keep growing

The $1000 grant may be the catalyst for your bigger picture, but it won’t fund:

  • Marketing for already established projects
  • Any travel or catering expenses
  • Awesome submissions that don’t clearly outline how the grant will be used.

Applications open October 1st, 2014.  Make sure you don’t miss out on all the updates.  Click here to join the Awesome Adelaide newsletter.  You know you want to.
